Gather the clinical story

Write down when each flare started, affected joints, prior diagnoses, past medicines, allergies, kidney stones, and current health conditions.

  • Current medication and supplement list
  • Recent serum urate and kidney-function results
  • Clear photos of visible swelling or tophi
  • Questions and goals for the visit

Set up the space

Choose a private, well-lit location with a stable camera and internet connection. The clinician may still recommend in-person examination, joint-fluid testing, imaging, or urgent care when remote evaluation is not enough.
